Après avoir été directeur photo auprès d’Atom Egoyan, Peter Mettler est passé réalisateur avec ce documentaire, dans lequel il part à la poursuite des aurores boréales. Une œuvre saisissante qui s’inscrit, à l’instar des premiers Egoyan, comme un incontournable de la Nouvelle vague torontoise.
Picture of Light remains Mettler’s richest work both in terms of its themes and visual splendour.
