The Informer verkauft sich als vielschichtiger Thriller und beginnt spannend, aber der Plot ist vorhersehbar, und die Figuren sind holzschnittartig (Frau und Kind aus dem Ikea-Katalog, böse Osteuropäer). Immerhin sind die Actionszenen solide, wenn auch teilweise brutal, und Joel Kinnaman (House of Cards) ist wie immer ein charismatischer Darsteller.
