As the dragons have almost disappeared from the kingdom of Bayala, the magic powers of the fairies are weakening. The fairy princesses Sera and Surah are thrilled when they discover they have the key to save the world in their hands: a dragon egg! Now the sisters must reach the dragon mountains and they embark on an adventurous journey into the unknown.

In der Elfenwelt Bayala welken die Pflanzen, das Eis schmilzt, und Drachen gibt es auch keine mehr. Daran ist jedoch nicht der Klimawandel schuld, sondern eine böse Königin mit Allmachtsfantasien. Aina Järvines Animationsfilm basiert auf den Elfenfiguren der Firma Schleich und kommt ohne größere Überraschungen aus, stattdessen hat er teils etwas von einer Sortimentsvorstellung. Der Spielzeughersteller aus Schwäbisch-Gmünd will schließlich auch ein paar neue Produkte in die Kinderzimmer befördern.
