Roman Signer - Die ideale Reisegeschwindigkeit
Aufdi Aufdermauer, Karin Wegmüller, Suisse, 2025o
An unusual journey began in 2002: The artist Roman Signer had the idea of driving a small, three-wheeled Ape vehicle on an old ski jump near Zakopane in Poland - and filming the whole thing. Without a script, without a fixed concept, a team of eight set off for Poland in three vehicles. Unexpected encounters, poetic moments and “small events”, as Signer calls his artistic interventions, occurred along the way. The journey ended with an exhibition, a blessing - and the Ape on the hill. But the film remained unfinished for a long time. The project was only completed over 20 years later, on the occasion of Signer's 80th birthday.
