A mishpoch travels from Aix-les-Bains to Calabria every year to harvest a kosher citrus fruit for Sukkot on Elio's farm. Elio would rather be an artist than a farmer, but he feels an obligation to his father's land. Young Esther, on the other hand, is committed to Orthodoxy, but would rather be free from the laws of Torah. Elio and Esther grow closer in the flowering groves and sense their kindred souls.
